The Mississippi Commission on Environmental Quality (“MCEQ”) and USG Interiors, LLC (“USG”) entered into a March 14th Agreed Order (“AO”) addressing an alleged violation of an air permit. See Order No. 7466 25.
USG operates a Greenville, Mississippi building components manufacturing facility.
The AO provides that USG’s facility operates pursuant to a Clean Air Act Title V Operating Permit. The AO further indicates that USG failed to:
…demonstrate compliance with the Particulate Matter (PM) limitation of 0.040 grains per dry standard cubic foot (gr/dscf) during a stack test of Emission Point AE-008 on October 18, 2023. Respondent emitted 0.044 gr/dscf during the stack test.
USG is stated to have demonstrated compliance with the PM limitation during a retest on January 25, 2024.
The AO assesses a civil penalty of $17,500.00.
