The International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF) and 11th Hour Racing have announced the renewal of a year-round sponsorship, focusing on sustainability initiatives throughout the ITHF organization for the fifth consecutive year.
As the Official Sustainability Sponsor of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, 11th Hour Racing supports all aspects of the ITHF’s operations, including the Infosys Hall of Fame Open in July. This sponsorship promotes sustainable practices such as composting, carbon offsetting, eliminating single-use plastics, and using sustainable and recycled products.
Through last year’s sponsorship, the Infosys Hall of Fame Open achieved carbon-neutral status and diverted 80 percent of its waste from landfills. The tournament offset 120 metric tons of carbon emissions (MT CO2e) stemming from operations, player travel and fans opting to offset their own emissions. Carbon credits purchased by the International Tennis Hall of Fame through the Gold Standard have helped to fund wind energy and turbines in Gujarat, India.
In 2024, the ITHF plans to track and offset emissions across the entire organization, including the Infosys Hall of Fame Open and all year-round operations. The ITHF is also expanding its sustainability initiatives at this year’s tournament by introducing reusable cups at all bars and concession stands, in addition to providing canned beverages instead of plastic, educating fans on proper waste disposal and composting managed by an on-site Green Team, and tracking waste to minimize its footprint.

“Through our partnership with 11th Hour Racing, we are proud of the strides the International Tennis Hall of Fame has made in responsible, sustainable steps toward reducing our footprint,” said Dan Faber, CEO of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. “We always strive to make an even more tangible impact and look forward to reaching our goal of offsetting our organizational carbon footprint this year with 11th Hour Racing’s support.”
“Our support of the International Tennis Hall of Fame enables us to continue broadening our impact within our coastal city and beyond. Turning a tennis fan into an ocean advocate benefits us all, especially the ocean,” said Lorraine McKenna, sponsorship director at 11th Hour Racing. “We are excited to collaborate with the ITHF to expand these sustainability initiatives, creating a tangible and measurable impact on ocean health. Every action we take on land directly affects the ocean.”
Fans attending the Infosys Hall of Fame Open can contribute to the ITHF’s sustainability goals by offsetting their personal carbon footprint when purchasing tickets. Visitors are also encouraged to bring reusable drinkware and utilize water refilling stations around the grounds and dispose of waste in designated recycling and composting bins.
Based in Newport, R.I., 11th Hour Racing advocates for sustainability and ocean health through solution-oriented initiatives for a more inclusive and sustainable future.
The Infosys Hall of Fame Open, the only ATP Tour tournament played on grass courts outside of Europe, will take place July 14-21 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Tickets can be purchased at infosyshalloffameopen.com or by calling the tournament box office at (401) 849-6053.
