Qurator will now rank Hawaii businesses on environmental impact, cultural respect – Hawaii News Now

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Hawaii Tourism Authority on Wednesday launched a new online certification for businesses.
It’s supposed to be a guide for visitors.
Qurator ranks companies based on their environmental impact, community contribution and respect for the local culture.
Its website has certified 13 businesses so far, including several airlines, tour boat companies, restaurants and the Bishop Museum.
“We are going to encourage them to be part of a program, where these businesses have already gone through … a set of criteria that enables us to reinforce what’s special about Hawaii — our culture, environment, lifestyle,” said Mufi Hannemann, board chair of the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
Interested businesses can fill out a free self-evaluation.
