Highlights from the last 12 months include:
With the built environment currently contributing an estimated 40 per cent of the UK’s total carbon footprint, many organisations have set ambitious targets to achieve net zero. EMCOR UK partners with its customers to help them achieve their net zero and sustainability targets through customised pathways and has created solutions that drive evidence-based decisions and strategic guidelines for energy optimisation and carbon reduction.
Our sustainability strategy is twofold: to set and achieve our own sustainability targets while simultaneously providing strategic and practical support to our customers to help them achieve their goals.
EMCOR UK has set its own ambitious targets including:
The group’s sustainability mission is to deliver targeted and sustainable economic, social and environmental benefits that reinforce its commitment to creating a better world at work for its customers, individuals and for the communities where it operates. Its sustainability goals are guided by the eight UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where it can deliver meaningful action, and the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact and its success is supported by its many collaborative partnerships and affiliations.
Cheryl McCall, Chief Executive for EMCOR UK, comments: “Our sustainability strategy is twofold: to set and achieve our own sustainability targets while simultaneously providing strategic and practical support to our customers to help them achieve their goals.
“Our efforts have focused on integrating sustainability into our daily culture, thinking, and behaviours. We’ve seen significant development across our services, helping our customers achieve their environmental and social objectives. Energy, carbon management, waste management, and circular economy solutions remain critically important to our customers and we have the relevant expertise to support them in these specialist areas.”
