DNR Seeking Public Comment for Environmental Review Of Project – Daily Dodge

(Madison) The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources recently announced that the village of Williams Bay is an applicant for funding through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program to improve their public drinking water system.
The project includes upgrading the water treatment plant in the village. The public is encouraged to submit comments regarding this decision and the potential impacts of this project. The Safe Drinking Water Loan Program has determined that the project will not result in significant adverse environmental effects, and no further environmental review or analysis is needed before proceeding with the funding for the project. Comments must be submitted by April 29, 2024.
Based on the feedback, the loan program might prepare an environmental analysis before moving forward with the funding process. The analysis would summarize the DNRs consideration of the project’s impacts and reasonable alternatives.
