The keynote, titled Energy, Equity, Economy: Middleton’s Zero-Carbon Initiatives, will be led by local sustainability expert, Kelly Hilyard.
Hilyard serves as the Sustainability Coordinator on the committee that’s hosting the ongoing discussion. This event is designed to help Middleton residents understand the importance of living sustainably, the actions the city is taking, and how residents can play a crucial role in the process.
Hilyard has worked in climate change and sustainability for three decades. She has approached the issues in different ways, including organic farming, landscape architecture, urban housing, and the green building industry.
The event will take place on Thursday, June 6, at 6 p.m. at Middleton Public Library.
