The Greenwise Market at Lane Parke in Mountain Brook Village has completed its transformation into a traditional Publix.
The official date was June 12th, a manager at the store told Bham Now last week.
A little over a year ago, Publix announced it was changing its earth-friendly Greenwise Market stores into the Publix brand.
For months customers witnessed the Mountain Brook store slowly remodeled right before their eyes without hindering their shopping experience.
What is the difference between Greenwise Market and a traditional Publix?
According to the Greenwise website the former store focused more on certified organic foods and ingredients with less artificial flavors and preservatives.
Despite the changeover, several Greenwise brands will remain on the store’s shelves.
The Lane Parke location first opened in 2016 as a Western Supermarket. It quickly became Alabama’s first and only Publix Greenwise Market in 2019 when Western Supermarkets ceased operations.
