The Raleigh Environmental Awards celebrate the best in climate action, community engagement, and corporate stewardship in the city

The City of Raleigh’s Information Technology Department’s Using Microclimate Modeling and Digital Twin to envision Raleigh’s Future Project, was named the recipient of the Climate Action: Land Use and Equity Award as a part of the 2024 Raleigh Environmental Awards program. The award was presented at the Environmental Awards Ceremony during Raleigh’s Earth Day Celebration at Dorothea Dix Park on April 19.  
Winners represent our community’s dedication to climate action, environmental stewardship, innovation, and education. 
“Honored to be recognized for our innovation team and partner’s work on how today’s decisions impact the environment for our future generations through predictive models, said City of Raleigh CIO Mark Wittenburg. “An innovative IT department is crucial to continuously develop and implement solutions that address emerging challenges and opportunities. Our team’s commitment to innovation ensures that the City is at the forefront of using technology to create positive, sustainable outcomes for our future.” 

The Raleigh Environmental Awards celebrate the best in climate action, community engagement, and corporate stewardship in our city. These winners represent the hard work of dozens of community members who make Raleigh a healthier, greener and more sustainable city.
