Singer and songwriter Jack Johnson has chosen Bend’s Hayden Homes Amphitheater to receive his All At Once Sustainability Award. It’s the second time the artist has given the award to the amphitheater.
The Old Mill District said the award is given to a select few venues, festivals and promoters worldwide that stand out in reducing waste and promoting sustainability.
“The winners were honored for making every effort to meet or exceed Johnson’s strict and unique sustainability requests and to implement energy conservation and waste reduction measures as an ongoing practice,” the Old Mill said.

The list of acts coming to the Hayden Homes Amphitheater in Bend is growing. Here is who is coming to town, so far, in 2024.
Hayden Homes Amphitheater also won the award in 2018.
“You are a leader and innovator taking action to reduce waste, promote reusables, strengthen local food systems, and support climate solutions,” Johnson said in a statement. “Many music fans want to feel part of a sustainable music community. As an artist, I’m proud of these All At Once Sustainability Award winners for inspiring the music industry with their commitment to the environment.”
Efforts the amphitheater has taken toward sustainability include banning sale of single-use plastic bottles, installing water fill stations, providing compostable cups and utensils and introducing cashless payment systems. It also has staff dedicated to making sure guests put their recycling, trash and compost in the proper receptacles.
