Letter: Climate Change – Tucson – Arizona Daily Star

To the skeptics and facilitators of climate change, this issue is NOT about you! The transition away from fossil fuels was never expected to be without hardship. While efforts may be made to alleviate the financial burden, it will inevitably be costlier, and government regulations might challenge personal liberties. However, the focus is not on individual financial interests or desires, but on the welfare of future generations, including your grandchildren. As the Earth warms, the melting of permafrost and subsequent release of vast amounts of methane is imminent, leading to profound changes on our planet. The increasing frequency and ferocity of tornadoes in the Midwest is just an early indicator of the potential consequences.
