The Select Board seeks qualified individuals to serve on the Shrewsbury Sustainability Committee.
Established by the Select Board on March 12, 2024, the Sustainability Committee is a new Town Committee. The Committee’s focus is on promoting the goals of the Shrewsbury Climate Action and Resiliency Plan (CARP) and to advance initiatives that focus on climate and environmental matters that impact public health, the built environment, vehicles, equipment, land use, solid waste, and natural resources.
Under the Committee’s charge, its duties will include increasing communication, engagement, and awareness regarding the Town’s sustainability and resiliency goals, while informing residents and serving as a resource about opportunities to support their clean energy transition. As a member of this new Committee, you will have the unique opportunity to impact the direction of the Committee’s work.
The initial members of the Committee will be appointed to staggered terms: two three-year terms, two two-year terms, and three one-year terms.
