Piedmont Environmental Council introduces rural business owners to solar – 29 News

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Piedmont Environmental Council spoke to rural business owners on Tuesday about accessing funds for solar.
It says any small business in rural areas and surrounding areas can receive federal funding. This can pay for more than half of the system.
PEC says the REAP Grant will allow small-scale solar to become a reality for Virginia Businesses.
“We view this as an important space in which there can be a lot of potential growth, both in terms of cost savings, but also sort of county backing and support for this method of engaging in the renewable energy transition,” said PEC Senior Energy and Climate Policy Analyst Ashish Kapoor.
PEC wants more rural business owners to be part of the clean energy solutions as Virginia transitions to 100% clean energy by 2050.
