April 30 2024
Solaris SE, Europe’s leading embedded finance platform, today published its annual sustainability report, detailing sustainability performance and activity during the entirety of 2023.
The sustainability report delivers key updates against Solaris’s ESG strategy titled ‘Nature, People and Business’ and highlights both areas of progression and required improvements across the business.
In a bid to improve the accuracy of carbon emissions tracking in comparison to the 2022 report, Solaris increased data availability at the eight locations it operates. The report evaluates all areas of carbon emissions including; fugitive emissions, utilities, purchased goods and services, business travel and employee commute.
Keeping in line with Solaris’s strategy to have a net-zero footprint by 2030, the organization took measures to reduce emissions from operations, and partnered with goodcarbon in December 2023 to help offset direct emissions. Through the partnership it started investing in The Generation Forest, a VERRA and VCS certified afforestation project in Panama to compensate for unavoidable emissions.
The sustainability report also outlined Solaris’s commitment to ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion across the business. Through support from its Employee Resources Groups, initiatives included raising awareness of specific focus days and conducting a gender pay gap analysis for the majority of the group. Solaris has set a target of achieving a minimum of 30% women representation across all levels by 2025.
The entire organization also saw the introduction of the group volunteering day policy, empowering our 700+ employees to engage in volunteering activity and charity campaigns, fostering a sense of community and giving back to society.
Ansgar Finken, CRO, Solaris SE said: “Solaris’s footprint is a complex combination of environmental, social and governance considerations. While we have established a journey to achieving a net zero footprint by 2030, evolving the social and governance aspects are equally as important for our business. We have a laser focus on fostering a diverse and open culture with positive people management, combined with strengthening governance to be the trusted embedded finance provider for our partners and their customers.”
