Alaska’s National Forests shared photos on social media. All of the ornaments you see here were made by kids and others in Wrangell using reused or natural materials.
In case you haven’t heard, this year’s U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree is coming from the Tongass National Forest. And the U.S. Forest Service has tasked Alaskans with providing 10,000 ornaments to decorate it!
Ornaments are due to the Forest Service by September 15.
Alaskans are encouraged to express what they love about the state, but the following themes may be used to spur creativity:
All ornaments must be submitted to the Forest Service no later than September 15, 2024. Ornaments can be dropped off at any Alaska National Forest office or mailed to:
