In celebration of the United Nations’ World Environment Day, SKS Hospitality, the hospitality arm of renowned property developer SKS Group, showcased its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship through a series of impactful initiatives. Demonstrating profound respect for Mother Earth, hotels under the vibrant FIVES and AMANSARI brands joined forces with local communities in Johor Bahru to spearhead meaningful conservation efforts.
At Amansari Residence Resort and Amansari Hotel Nusajaya, the hotels’ dedicated team partnered with Majlis Bandaraya Pasir Gudang to conduct a comprehensive clean-up of the surrounding areas of Meridin Bayvue. In a similar spirit of collaboration, the Amansari Hotel Desaru teamed up with Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri to restore the natural beauty of Pantai Batu Layar.
Simultaneously, FIVES Hotel Johor Bahru City Centre, FIVES Hotel Meldrum, and FIVES Hotel DNP worked alongside Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru at the Tunku Mahkota Ismail Youth Centre. Among the standout activities was the preparation and deployment of 300 mud balls into local rivers, a scientifically-backed method designed to improve water quality by breaking down pollutants and reducing harmful bacteria levels.
Further extending their sustainability efforts, the three FIVES Hotels sponsored and repurposed 300 used duvets into recyclable tote bags, promoting the 3R principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. These eco-friendly bags were distributed to the public, underscoring the importance of sustainable practices in everyday life.
