THE WHAT? Dow and Freepoint Eco-Systems have signed a supply agreement to transform 65,000 metric tons of plastic waste into circular feedstock annually, aiming to support a circular economy for plastics in North America.
THE DETAILS   Freepoint Eco-Systems is building an advanced recycling facility in Arizona, which will be ISCC Plus-Certified and capable of processing end-of-life plastic waste. Dow will be the exclusive offtaker from the facility’s first phase, converting the certified-circular liquid supply into virgin-grade equivalent plastics for various applications, including food-grade and medical packaging. The facility, expected to start operations in 2026, will have a total capacity of recycling approximately 180,000 tons of plastic waste per year.
THE WHY?  This partnership marks a significant step towards Dow’s “Transform the Waste” goal, addressing plastic pollution and reducing reliance on fossil feedstocks. By collaborating with Freepoint Eco-Systems, Dow aims to build a robust circular feedstock supply portfolio and promote sustainable economic growth in the region. This initiative reflects both companies’ commitment to advancing the circular economy and developing innovative recycling solutions for plastic waste.
