EPA awards $1.5 million grant for North Alabama environmental cleanup – AL.com

The Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments is seeking to address environmental concerns after receiving a $1.5 million Federal Brownfield Assessment Grant from the Environmental Protection Agency.
TARCOG Economic Development and Planning Director Lee Terry said in a news release the funding will be used to inventory, conduct environmental assessments, develop 15 cleanup plans, three revitalization plans, and support community engagement activities in each of the communities for input on redevelopment potential over the next four years.
