BAXTER — The University of Minnesota Extension Central Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships is hosting a first-of-its-kind sustainability festival in Baxter.
The Lakes Area Sustainability Fest will be 1-7 p.m. June 26 at the Northland Arboretum. The outdoor event is free and will include activities for all ages, including tours of the Arboretum, electric bike testing, kids’ games, yoga and a mini farmers market. Electric vehicles will be on display with experts on hand to answer questions. Attendees can learn about sustainable living from central Minnesota businesses and organizations, purchase food and beverages from food trucks and vendor booths and enjoy live music from 3:30-6:30 p.m. All are encouraged to stay for the door prize drawing at the end of the event.
“I’m excited to attend the Sustainability Fest to learn how I can live more sustainably and to meet up with people in our region who can help me do that. Food, music, and interesting people – what could be better than that!” said Vicki Chepulis, Wadena resident and Central Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships board member, in a news release.
